Madras High Court Gives Green Flag to Udayanidhi Stalin Starrer Maamannan

Ramasaravanan testified before the court that he and Stalin had a verbal agreement in 2018.

On Wednesday, the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court (HC) denied a request for a preliminary injunction against the Udayanidhi Stalin-starring film “Maamannan”.

The interim petition was filed with a request to stop the film’s release, and it denied a request made by the producer of the other film “Angel.”

The Madras High Court’s Justice Kumaresh Babu ruled that the absence of the right parties prevented the interim injunction from being granted.

A further petition asking the court to order Stalin to provide a call sheet and assist in the finishing of the movie “Angel” was also announced by Justice Kumaresh Babu as something he would hear on June 28 evening.

Ramasaravanan, the producer of “Angel,” testified before the court that he and Stalin had an oral arrangement in 2018 for Stalin to act in his film and that Stalin received an advance of Rs. 30 lakhs, with a total payment of Rs. 1.25 crore.

In addition to Fiji, various sites in Chennai were used for the film “Angel.” However, the Covid-19 outbreak and Stalin’s subsequent appointment as a minister prevented it from being finished.

The petitioner explained to the court that he contacted it at a time when Stalin had told the media that “Maamannan” was his final film and that he would not perform in anymore.

Ramasaravanan testified before the court that 80% of the work on “Angel” was complete and that he had already spent Rs 13 crore on the film.

In his request for the court to get involved, he claimed that if the movie is not released, he will lose Rs 25 crore.
