The film LYF: Love Your Father features SP Charan, son of the late legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, in the lead role. Directed by Pavan Ketharaju, the movie marks the debut of Sri Harsha as a hero. The film created some buzz during its promotions. Now, let’s see how well it impressed the audience!

LYF- Love Your Father Review

LYF- Love Your Father Movie Story: Love Your Father is about Kishore (SP Charan), who performs last rites for the unclaimed dead, and his son Sidhu (Sri Harsha), who follows his path. Their lives take a turn when mafia leader Kabir (Nawab Shah) falsely frames them. The film reveals their fight for justice and the emotional journey they go through.

Performances: Chatrapathi Sekhar delivered a standout performance as an Aghora with his voice modulation and screen presence, becoming a major asset to the film. SP Charan brought maturity and warmth to his role, though his expressions felt unnatural at times. The emotional twist and second-half scenes worked well. Sri Harsha, in his debut, showed decent acting, especially in emotional sequences with Charan. Praveen got a good role after a long time and brought in some comedy. Kashika Kapoor struggled with lip-sync and expressions, which impacted her performance. Nawab Shah tried to make an impact as the villain, but weak dialogues held him back.

Technical Aspects: Mani Sharma’s songs were average, but the background score helped to elevate the emotional depth of the film. Cinematography by Shyam K. Naidu was decent, and every frame reflected the producers uncompromised quality. The art department, production design team, DI, and mixing work were all impressive.

Director Pavan Ketharaju chose a strong emotional core between a father and son and portrayed it well. The fun and emotional moments in the second half worked to some extent. However, the villain’s character felt poorly integrated, and some key scenes lacked natural flow. Comedy scenes with Praveen, Bhadram, and Shakalaka Shankar might appeal to some. Overall, Pavan’s first attempt was decent but not entirely convincing.

Analysis: Love Your Father starts off with an engaging premise, but loses its grip midway with poorly placed college and comedy episodes. While the interval and parts of the second half regain some momentum, the emotional core between father and son isn’t explored deeply enough. The film had potential, but missed the mark in execution. With better emotional depth and tighter storytelling, it could’ve been much more impactful. Overall, it ends up average.

Verdict: Love Your Father has a heartfelt core and a few emotional moments, but uneven narration, misplaced comedy, and weak execution dilute its impact. Despite a strong concept, it ends up as an average watch with limited appeal.

Bottom Line: Emotions good, execution falls short.

Rating: 2/5
