The second season of the 2018 film ‘Lust Story’ ‘L*st Story 2’ has been released today on the OTT platform Netflix. The first part of this film also received a nomination for Best Picture at the Emmy Awards. Now this new season has many actors including Kajol, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mrinal Thakur, Neena Gupta, and Kumud Mishra. Let’s know-how is the film!
Story: Like last season, this season also has 4 stories. The first story is directed by R Balki. In the first part, Neena Gupta is playing the role of Dadi, who is very cool in today’s world. She advises her granddaughter (Mrunal Thakur) to take a test drive before marriage. This story is made about s*x in married life.
The second story is directed by Konkona Sen. Tillotama Shome and Amrita Subhash has played the characters in this story of Konkona. The story is based on a repressed desire for a s*x life.
Performance: Neena has given a very good performance in the first story. Mrinal and Angad’s acting is decent. In the second story, Tilottama and Amrita are winning the hearts of people with their acting. On the other hand, in the third story, Vijay and Tamanna have disappointed, both of them are just seen adding a tinge of glamour. Whereas in the fourth story, Kajol and Kumud have given their best, Kumud Mishra as always, has impressed with her acting. The way he has played his character is really commendable.
Technicalities: R Balki has told his story in a very graceful manner. Without making the story obscene, he presented this adult story in front of us in a very good way. Konkona’s story and direction are amazing. Whereas Sujoy disappointed people with his story.
Analysis: Despite having a good cast in L*st Story 2, the story of the film disappointed. Too many s*xual things in the Film have resulted in becoming a film of so much in the B grade category. There are big actors and directors in this film, yet somewhere the story is defeated and somewhere the acting is. Neena Gupta’s ‘test drive’ keeps coming up again and again which makes it a bit boring.
Konkona’s story is good, her story also seems to show mental illness.
Along with the story of Sujoy, the acting of Vijay and Tamanna is also bad. Tamannaah is just seen showing glamor which has made the film a B-grade movie.
Kajol and Kumud are in the fourth story, it was expected that Kajol and Kumud would be seen doing wonders with their character, but the director could not use these excellent actors in a good way. However, still, the story of Kajol and Kumud seems to be saving this film, probably because this story was kept in the end. It is said that ‘all is well that ends well’, so perhaps the makers also saved the best for the last.
Verdict: Despite a few uneven spots, Lost Stories 2 is a fun and interesting game.
