Love Me Story: Arjun (Ashish) is a YouTuber known for seeking answers to unsolved mysteries and doing the very things people warn him against. He discovers a ghost named Divyavathi, rumored to have caused the deaths of anyone who approaches her. Despite the danger, Arjun falls in love with Divyavathi and delves into her past. Performances: This is Ashish Reddy’s second film as a lead actor. He appears handsome in the role of Arjun and demonstrates a mature performance, especially in the emotional climax scenes. Vaishnavi Chaitanya, known for her work in ‘Baby,‘ delivers an acceptable performance as Priya. Ravikrishna’s role does not offer the same scope for showcasing his talent as in ‘Virupaksha,’ but he performs well within the given constraints. The rest of the cast also delivers satisfactory performances.
Technical Aspects: Given the weak writing, the music department could only do so much. The artwork is superb, and the visuals by P.C. Sreeram are top-notch, making the movie visually splendid. Keeravani’s background score is decent, though the songs are bad. Credit goes to the legendary cinematographer for the fantastic visuals. The CGI is satisfactory. The editing is below par and the dialogues are a bit over the top.
Analysis: Love Me – If You Dare explores these fears and the illusions within us. Director Arun Bheemavarapu adds a horror twist to this theme. His story has substance, but the narrative is confusing. The characters, particularly the hero and heroine, are meticulously detailed, from the hero’s black attire to his barefoot wandering.
These details are intended to add depth and twists, but the rest of the plot is hard to follow. The film is filled with questions that lead to more questions, creating a sense of confusion. The second half drags significantly, and while the film starts off exciting, execution issues arise.
The identity of the ghost post-interval is particularly perplexing. However, the ending is strong, hinting at a sequel. Love Me stands out as a unique horror thriller amidst conventional commercial films. The concept is intriguing, but the narration is bad and takes the film down in no time.
Verdict: Overall, Love Me is a stylish film with great visuals and interesting points. However, the presentation and thrills do not impress, and the film ultimately becomes very confusing.
