The wait is almost over for Rajinikanth’s much anticipated gangster drama Coolie which is all set to hit theatres on August 14th.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has completed its censor process and has received an A certificate creating buzz about its intense and raw content.
The film’s song ‘Monica’, featuring Pooja Hegde and Soubin Shahir is already a chartbuster. Soubin energetic dance moves have become a major talking point. Speaking about the song during promotions, Lokesh revealed it was added for commercial appeal.
He said, “I usually don’t include item numbers, but ‘Monica’ fits in well and won’t break the flow. In Jailer, Rajinikanth had a dancing moment, but here, Soubin made it work”.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie boasts a powerful cast including Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir with music by Anirudh Ravichander. With strong buzz Coolie is shaping up to be one of the biggest Tamil releases of 2025.
