Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Leo’: A Remake Rumour?

Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for his action-packed films, is set to collaborate once again with Thalapathy Vijay in an upcoming project titled “Leo.” While unconfirmed reports suggest that this movie draws inspiration from David Cronenberg’s cult classic gangster film, ‘A History of Violence,’ released in 2005, it’s important to note that Lokesh is known for putting his unique spin on his work rather than blindly copying.

This potential addition to the Lokesh Kanagaraj universe, initiated with ‘Vikram’ alongside Kamal Haasan, has garnered significant interest. Interestingly, Telugu audiences have already witnessed a scene-by-scene remake of ‘A History of Violence’ in the form of ‘Gaayam 2’ starring Jagapathi Babu back in 2010.

However, Lokesh’s creative talent suggests that he is likely to have taken the core concept from the Hollywood film and infused it with his signature style. The recently unveiled Telugu poster for ‘Leo’ showcases Vijay in a contemplative mood against a picturesque snowy mountain backdrop.

The poster’s message, “Keep calm and avoid the battle,” adds an intriguing layer to the film’s theme, raising curiosity about what this action entertainer will bring to the table. Fans eagerly await this second collaboration between the accomplished actor-filmmaker duo following their success with ‘Master.’
