Lokesh Kanagaraj, one of Kollywood’s top directors has been fully focused on his film Coolie for the past two years, which kept him away from social media and public events.
Now, with Coolie starring Rajinikanth set to release on August 14, Lokesh is back in action with interviews and promotions.
At a recent event at his college PSG in Coimbatore, he spoke about his film journey and the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
He said, “LCU cannot exist without Vijay anna”, but hinted that Vijay may not return as his focus is shifting in a different direction, possibly politics. This comment went viral, sparking speculation among fans.
Lokesh, known for connecting his films like Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo, is now presenting Coolie as a standalone film.
It features Nagarjuna as the villain, with Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and a cameo by Aamir Khan. The trailer releases on August 2, followed by a grand audio launch.
