Devi Sri Prasad gave a knock-out album for Pushpa: The Rise but was highly criticised for his background score in the movie. While a lot of factors were said to be the reason for the underwhelming background score, the entire blame went to the music director. At the same time, Balakrishna’s Akhanda was released, and Thaman’s background score was highly talked about and even immensely raved about, putting him on the top of every actor’s list.
Thaman’s first major release this year was Radhe Shyam, for which he provided only the background score. The second major release has been the recently released Sarkaru Vaari Paata for Thaman. There were a lot of expectations for the music of this movie, as the song Kalaavathi turned out to be a massive success. While the other songs from the film turned out to be just about average, there were good hopes for the bgm for the film.
Upon release, though, the bgm of SVP has disappointed audiences, who are of the feeling that the music director didn’t give it his all for the bgm for this film. Thaman is currently facing the same type of criticism that DSP did, at the time of Pushpa’s release.
