Liger first day collections; Falls short of expectations

Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role had a theatrical release yesterday. Opened to poor word of mouth, this Puri Jagannadh directional has collected a worldwide share of Rs 13.30 crore on its first day. Below is area-wise break up data.

We had already reported that the pre-release business of Liger is done for Rs 82.15 crore. Reportedly, the film should collect Rs 85 crore to achieve break-even status. As the film has collected Rs 13.30 crore share on its first day, Liger should collect Rs 71.7 crore more to be termed as a clean hit at the box office.
