Manchu Manoj came into Telugu Film Industry as a lead actor being the son of famous character actor turned hero, Manchu Mohan Babu. His first film, Donga Dongadi became a success but after that he had to face several disappointments due to his story selection. He then changed his approach and appearance doing different stories from one another and achieving good variation on his resume. Lately, he has been facing flops one after the other, so he is again trying a commercial action film with Gunturodu. Pragya Jaiswal is his love interest in the film and it is written and directed by SK Satya. The movie is schefuled for a February release. The songs of the film composed by DJ Vasanth have been released at a grand function in Hyderabad. Mohan Babu wished his son all the best and congratulated his favorite singer KJ Yesudas for receiving Padma Vibhushan and on behalf of the legend his son, Vijay Yesudas who was present at the function was given the congratulatory bouquet to present to his father.
Vishnu wished his brother best and then again repeated that he doesn’t like to attend audio functions. Sai Dharam Tej and Sharwanand attended the function as special guests and they shared their friendship with Manoj and wished him for the movie and 12 years of career. Manchu Manoj took the stage and spoke at length about his desire to be part of different movies rather than confining to routine mass movies. He asked many of his well wishers and fans to allow him to do what his main goal was to enter into filmmaking, being recognised as an actor. He said he always wanted to achieve that and will keep regardless of failures. He promised he will try commercial films as well and Gunturodu is a start. He wished his producer Varun all the success.
