Choreographer Saroj Khan died due to cardiac arrest at the age of 71 in Bandra, Mumbai, on 3rd July, 2020. She made her name with Sridevi’s Hawa Hawai in Mr. India and then rose to stardom with Madhuri Dixit’s arrival as she composed steps most of thr actress’ famous songs. Her family confirmed that they admitted her in thr hospital after she expressed breathlessness few days ago and there were reports that she tested positive for Covid-19 as well.
She decided to do dance programs on TV to become close to younger generation in India and she has the distinction of being highly imitated, mocked, trolled, celebrated and respected on TV for her work. Her behavior off the screen led to such trolls that she asked people stop targetting her. The choreographer’s real name was Niramala Nagpal at birth and she changed it to Saroj Khan as her family changed their religion. She joined industry as an actress and then became a group dancer to slowly rise up the ladder as a popular choreographer. Bollywood legends are mourning for her death.
