Legal Trouble for Mahesh Babu Over Srimanthudu

Koratala Siva, the director of “Srimanthudu,” is facing legal action over copyright allegations. The Supreme Court confirmed a lower court’s decision to proceed with criminal charges against him, citing directions from the Nampally court. Koratala Siva sought intervention from the Telangana High Court in response.

In the midst of the copyrights controversy, writer Sarath Chandra intends to file cases against Mahesh Babu and Mythri Naveen in the Supreme Court. He claims that “Srimanthudu” copied his story, “Chacheantha Prema,” originally published in Swathi Monthly Magazine in 2012.

Sarath Chandra alleges that his attempts to notify Mahesh Babu were thwarted when the ownership of MB Creations shifted from Mahesh Babu to Gangadhar. Notably, Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment co-produced “Srimanthudu” with Mythri Movie Makers.

Expressing his grievance, Sarath Chandra asserts that he devoted seven years to crafting his story and seeks acknowledgment rather than financial compensation for the alleged theft of his plot. The copyright controversy surrounding “Srimanthudu” contains claims against Koratala Siva, with Sarath Chandra saying his story was plagiarized, while Mahesh Babu and Mythri Naveen are also named in the court proceedings.
