Every once in a while, there comes an industry-shattering film, in good and bad ways as well. That is the case with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha right now, as the film has dethroned Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero as the most disastrous film in recent years. Laal Singh Chaddha has been prestigiously made on a budget of 200 crores and has failed to collect enough to break even, with losses accounting for over 100 crores. To add to that is the fact that this is Aamir’s second highly disastrous film, the previous being Thugs of Hindostan, which was another epic-scale disaster.
Laal Singh Chaddha seemed to have all the makings of an epic blockbuster, given that the film was an official remake of Forrest Gump, a film so successful and critically acclaimed that it received many Oscar nominations and awards as well.
There has been no word from Aamir Khan about the disaster, and it is to be seen how the actor will bounce back in his career, given that the actor is known to be a perfectionist who’s mostly delivered blockbuster movies in his career.
