It is widely known that due to health complications, star heroine Samantha is away from the camera for more than six months. In Telugu, her project, titled, Kushi starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role is also temporarily kept on hold. Being directed by Shiva Nirvana, Kushi is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. Malayalam music composer Hesham Abdul Wahab is composing soundtracks for the film.
Surprisingly, a few days back Samantha landed in Mumbai to join the sets of her new web series with Bollywood star Varun Dhawan. Said to be an official remake of the Russo Brothers’ American show, Citadel, the project being directed by director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.
Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that director Shiva Nirvana is totally disappointed with the reckless behavior of Samantha. Reportedly, she didn’t even intimate to the team of Kushi that she is participating in the shooting of Citadel. As per the buzz, Shiva Nirvana expressed the same thing with the makers. If Samantha won’t be resuming the shoot for Kushi in March, then Shiva Nirvana will be shifting his focus on his new film, say inside reports.
On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda has a project with Gowtham Tinnanuri of Jersey fame in the pipeline. Tentatively titled #VD12, the film is being bankrolled by Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments in association with Trivikram’s wife Sai Soujanya’s Fortune Four Cinemas banner. Srikara Studios banner will be co-producing the film. If Kushi shooting won’t resume anytime soon, Vijay will also kick-start Gowtham Tinnanuri’s film as early as possible, say sources.
