The success of Oopiri in Telugu and Tamil (Thozha) seems to have triggered the remake of the film in Bollywood as well. Karan Johar has had the remake rights of the film for a while now and it is learnt that the film might now become a reality. The names of Amithab Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have been spoken about for the film while an official confirmation is awaited.
Amitabh may reprise Nagarjuna’s role while Karthi’s role could be essayed either by Varun or Ranbir. Meanwhile, there’s now talk of Kriti Sanon being considered for the role which Tamannaah played here. Kriti is yet to decide whether she wants to be a part of the film or not though.
An official announcement is awaited.
