Director Krish came up with different films in his career and Gautamiputra Satakarni became a big identity for him as it also is a commercial success. Now, he made Manikarnika, NTR biopic at the same time. But he decided to not talk much about Manikarnika for many days after Kangana Ranaut took over the mantle from him. He spoke about the movie in an interview.
“It is still my film and it will always be. I did not handover on the whole and there are many scenes and shots that producers are using that I directed. The talks with the studio are going on about it.
Second thing, I got to know that after it went to someone else’s hand they fabricated history and even added unnecessary scenes. When an actor like Sonu Soos performed well, he got replaced because of these changes. I am unhappy about that.
I finished shooting in 109 days as we planned in 2017 and for April, we got the movie ready. They asked for changes and I scheduled 19 days for re-shooting, as soon as we got the new release date for August 15. I got an offer for NTR Kathanayakudu when I was looking over the re-recording works at that time. I was waiting for the producers to give me a go ahead but they asked for even more changes.
They postponed the movie too. I couldn’t help myself as I got busy with NTR. The second part works are almost done and now, I am talking with producers about the film,” concluded Krish.
