After tasting a disastrous result for his last outing, Acharya, noted director Koratala Shiva is gearing up to direct star hero NTR for his next. Tentatively titled NTR30, the film’s formal pooja ceremony will happen on May 20th on the eve of NTR’s birthday and is expected to go on the floors from June.
Koratala Shiva made his directional debut with the 2013 action family drama, Mirchi. This commerical entertainer was a superhit at the box office and established Koratala as a bankable director in Tollywood. But surprisingly, later onwards Koratala took a preachy turn and has made social dramas like Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage and Bharat Ane Nenu. With Acharya too, Koratala tried to address a social issue which was misfired miserably at the box office.
After witnessing backslash from the audience for his preachy narrative, Koratala is left with no option but to focus on the mass elements in NTR’s project just like how he earlier did for Mirchi. NTR-Koratala’s project is a pan-India film and going to be bankrolled by Yuvasudha Arts banner in association with Kalyan Ram’s NTR Arts banner.
