Kona Venkat’s Strong Take On Censor Rules
The censor process has become a major talking point in the film industry. Whenever a film gets a U, U/A or A certificate, it attracts attention.
But does the certificate really decide a movie’s success? At the Comrade Kalyan event, writer Kona Venkat questioned the censor process.
He said authorities can decide the certificate, but questioned their right to ask filmmakers to remove specific scenes. However, a certificate alone does not guarantee success.
Films with U certificates can fail, while U/A or A-rated movies can become hits. Audiences mainly look at the story, performances and entertainment.
Kona Venkat also said OTT platforms judge the complete film before acquiring it. Comrade Kalyan, starring Sree Vishnu and Mahima Nambiar, releases on October 9th.
