Kollywood Superstar Ajith Kumar is currently working on an action thriller titled, Thunivu. Being directed by H Vinoth, the film’s shooting is in its final leg. Being bankrolled by Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, the film marks the third time collaboration of the star actor-director duo, Ajith and H Vinoth after the 2019 film, Nerkonda Paarvai and the 2021 film, Valimai. The interesting aspect is that Boney Kapoor is the producer for all three films.
A couple of weeks back news came out that Thunivu is gearing up for a theatrical release during the Pongal season. Though the makers are yet to announce the film’s release date, the latest reports suggest that the Red Giant Movies banner owned by noted actor cum producer Udhayanidhi Stalin has acquired the distribution rights of Thunivu for the entire Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that the Red Giant Movies team has already started signing agreements with leading theaters for the release of Thunivu.
On the other hand, yet another Tamil star Vijay’s new film, Varisu under the direction of Tollywood director Vamshi Paidipally is also gearing up for the same festival season release. Being bankrolled by Dil Raju, the distribution rights of Varisu are also bagged by Red Giant Movies. Though the makers have already kick-started promotions and released the first single from the audio album, the theater agreements for Varisu across Tamil Nadu are yet to begin.
