“King Buddha – We Want World Peace” Title Song Launch By Sri Lankan Minister Dr. Sunil Senevi

Hyderabad: The title song “King Buddha – We Want World Peace” was officially launched by Sri Lanka’s Minister of Buddhism Religious Affairs, Dr. Sunil Senevi, at a grand event held at ITC Kakatiya, Hyderabad.

Speaking at the ceremony Dr. Sunil Senevi praised director Satya Reddy’s noble initiative of promoting global peace through the film King Buddha. He emphasized the need to end ongoing conflicts across the world, including tensions between Iran–Israel and Ukraine–Russia, and appreciated the film’s strong message advocating peace.

He expressed happiness that the film has been initiated in the United States and is being shot across several Buddhist countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Indonesia. He also assured full support from Sri Lanka for upcoming shooting schedules. He remarked that King Buddha will stand as a unique film in world cinema history for being shot across numerous Buddhist nations.

Recalling the devastating impact of atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he stressed that the world must avoid another global war and adopt the path of peace. He stated that Buddhism remains a guiding force for global harmony and highlighted that thousands of Buddhist monks are conducting peace walks worldwide, receiving immense public support.

Dr. Sunil Senevi also revealed that he had watched some portions of the film shot in Hollywood and lauded director Satya Reddy for his exceptional work.

On this occasion, the King Buddha film team honored the minister with floral garlands and traditional shawls.

Director Satya Reddy, speaking at the event, said that after a 30-year-long career in cinema, bringing the story of Gautama Buddha to the global audience through King Buddha is a dream come true. He announced that the film is planned for a worldwide release in over 100 languages in 2027. He further stated that the film is being made with cutting-edge technology never seen before.

Currently, key sequences depicting the birth, childhood, and education of Gautama Buddha are being filmed in Nepal, including locations in the Himalayas, Lumbini, and Kathmandu.
