The recently released movie ‘Bhola Shankar,’ starring Megastar Chiranjeevi, has garnered limited expectations from the start. Despite teasers, trailers, and songs failing to capture audience interest, the movie’s impact on advance bookings has been significant.
However, even on its opening day, the morning shows did not fill up in prominent screens, surprising many for a Megastar’s film. Chiranjeevi’s performance, dance, and fight sequences don’t rescue the movie, evident from the audience’s post-theatre reactions. The film’s most awkward moment involves the recreation of a scene from ‘Khushi,’ which had already been parodied in numerous films. Chiranjeevi’s decision to mimic this scene raised eyebrows, with Pawan’s mimicking gesture receiving a negative response.
Mega fans have questioned the necessity of such a small-scale parody. The intense recreation of the waistline scene from ‘Khushi’ left many feeling uncomfortable, wondering when it would end. Chiranjeevi’s decision to perform such a scene at his age, along with the expressions used, might not sit well with his family audience. A final cut of this scene could have been more considerate.
