Mahesh Babu’s film Khaleja, released on October 7, 2010, didn’t do well at the box office back then, despite high expectations after the success of Athadu, his earlier film with director Trivikram. Coming after a three-year gap, Khaleja had a unique storyline but couldn’t click with audiences at the time. However, it gained a strong following through TV and digital platforms over the years.
Nearly 15 years later, the film was re-released in a 4K version on May 30th. Though it was a flop initially, the re-release turned out to be a huge success, breaking records. The first weekend collections for Khaleja (4K) were outstanding.
Let’s have a look now:
Nizam | 4.90 cr |
Ceded | 0.50 cr |
Uttarandhra | 0.80 cr |
East | 0.30 cr |
West | 0.38 cr |
Guntur | 0.50 cr |
Krishna | 0.45 cr |
Nellore | 0.18 cr |
AP+Telangana | 8.01 cr |
Rest of India | 0.65 cr |
Overseas | 1.20 cr |
Worldwide (Total) | 9.86 cr (share) |
Even with competition from new movies, Khaleja (4K) re-release collected a strong Rs. 9.86 crore gross in just 2 days. There’s also a good chance the film will continue to collect steadily even on weekdays.
