KGF Chapter 2, the much-awaited movie of the season featuring Yash in the lead role has hit the screens today. Let’s check how it is.
Story: After finishing off Garuda in the first installment, the second part kick-starts with an episode of Rocky( Yash) taking over the goldmine empire KGF. Soon after emerging as the king of KGF, Rocky starts expanding his business network. But as an unexpected scenario, the other partners in KGF bring Adheera on board to finish Rocky. What will Rocky do now? How will be face Adheera? What is the role of Indian Prime Minister Ramika Sen(Raveena Tandon) in the entire setup, forms the main USB of the film.
Performances: Yash impresses with his outstanding screen presence and brings depth to the proceedings with his acting. His attitude and stylish mannerisms are a major plus for the film.
Raveena Tandon gets a purposeful role as a powerful politician and impresses with her impactful acting.
Sanjay Dutt’s getup as Adheera is impressive but his character lacks a solid impact. Heroine Srinidhi Shetty got a better screen space in KGF2 compared to the first part. Other supporting artists such as Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash and Saran Shakti did their respective roles quite convincingly.
Technicalities: Music by Ravi Basrur is a backbone for the film as the background score breathes life to the film and all the elevation scenes on Rocky. Audio-wise, the film has all situational songs which carry the mood of the film nicely.
Bhuvan Gowda’s cinematography is top-notch as he presented the film superbly with his framing. The lighting setup he used to showcase the dark texture in the movie is impressive. Editing by Ujwal Kulkarni is good as he took care by avoiding unwanted episodes in the narrative.
Production design work is good as the entire premises created to showcase Rocky’s KGF empire are impressive. Production values for this star-studded actioner are rich.
Analysis: Just like in the first part, director Prashant Neel prominently focused on the hero elevation episodes at regular intervals in the narrative. He has done a fabulous job in executing the film without any boring moments. The confrontation episodes between Rocky and Adheera are executed on a proper note and are treat to watch on screen. The same is the case with the scenes related to Raveena Tandon’s role as the Indian Prime Minister.
Though Prashant Neel worked on writing enough hero-centric elevation scenes, he would have focused on exploring the depth in Adheera’s character as it lacks proper detailing. Adding to it, the pace of the film drops a bit in the second half with could have been avoided.
To summarise, KGF 2 is a high voltage action drama that has enough action sequences and heroism elevation episodes in it. KGF2 will satisfy the moviegoers who are eagerly waiting to watch a proper action flick.
