Keerthy Suresh to gain weight for Mahanati!

Keerthy Suresh, the Malayalali beauty is going strength to strength in Tamil and Telugu. In the space of two years, she grew steps ahead off her competition with big projects lining up for her. She is currently busy with two Telugu movies Mahanati, biopic of great actress Savitri and Pawan Kalyan’s 25th film in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. The actress is shifting between the sets and trying to balance out both the biggies. But the actress, now faces the real challenge in essaying the role of a great person of bygone era.

Savitri, had a highly turbulent life as she dedicated all her energies to movies and her career through out her life. She was too thin when started out and by the 60’s she grew too fat and then by the time died in 80’s , reduced drastically due to cancer. Keerthy Suresh is trying to portray all three timelines in the movie and she reduced from normal weight to portray young Savitri of Devadasu, Donga Ramudu, Missamma, Mayabazaar. As the shoot of that part of the film has come to an end, she now has to gain even more kilos to show Savitri of 60’s from Kalasi unte Kaladu Sukham, Rakathasambandham, Gundamma Katha and so on.

Director of the movie Naga Ashwin confirmed this and said, ” The movie will be first of its kind for Indian Cinema with great set pieces and it won’t be a normal routine biopic by any measure. Keerthy is trying hard to keep up with our and script demands. I must say, she is doing pretty good job. We will start the next schedule once she gains the require weight and the first schedule will be completed in few days.” The movie has Samantha Ruth Prabhu playing the journalist of 60’s who chronicles the actress life and Dulquer Salman is playing Gemini Ganeshan, the husband of late actress and romantic hero of Tamil Cinema. Movie will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam by summer, 2018.
