Kayadu Lohar says Diwali always brings her family together despite their busy lives. She shares that when she thinks of Diwali she feels warmth and happiness.
This year she’ll be shooting but hopes to visit her grandparents in Assam if she gets time off. Usually she celebrates in Pune with her parents and brother, her mom handles the puja, and she takes care of the decorations and rangoli.
As a child she loved singing aarti loudly with her sister and going shopping for new clothes. She used to burst crackers but stopped after class 10 to protect animals, being an animal lover herself.
For Diwali she prefers simple dressing, a light saree or kurta and no heavy makeup. Reflecting on the year she calls it a roller coaster of highs and lows but says such moments make her stronger.
“I always pick myself up and move forward”, she adds with a smile.
