Vijay Thalapathy, is facing a major political setback after a stampede at his Karur rally in Tamil Nadu three days ago, which killed 40 people including children.
The tragedy caused a huge uproar, with Prime Minister Modi, several chief ministers, politicians and actors expressing condolences.
With only 8 months left for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vijay is under pressure and the ruling government is using the incident to label him as an irresponsible leader.
The situation got more complicated when actress Kayadu Lohar was reportedly linked to a controversial tweet criticizing Vijay.
She then clarified that the Twitter account was fake and the statements were not hers. She expressed her condolences for the victims and denied having any personal friends affected in Karur.
This is the second time Kayadu’s name has been dragged into political controversies. She has acted in Telugu films like Alluri and is now gaining popularity in Tamil cinema.
The Twitter account circulating posts under my name is fake. I have no connection with it, and the statements made there are not mine.
I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident at the Karur rally, and my heartfelt condolences go out to the families who have lost their loved…
