Karmakhya Movie Review & Rating!

After Balagam and Ramam Raghavam, another Jabardasth comedian, Adhire Abhi “Abhinaya Krishna”, has turned director with Karmakhya. His earlier OTT film Chiranjeeva went unnoticed. Now, he returns with this theatrical thriller. Has Karmakhya lived up to expectations? Here’s our review.

Karmakhya Story: Kamakhya (Samaira) loses her job and struggles to repay her bank loan. Her friend and roommate Pravallika (Sharanya Pradeep) supports her financially. When Pravallika cannot attend work, Kamakhya takes up her task of delivering a Rs. 25 lakh insurance policy to a couple, Sarojini (Abhirami) and Prabhakar (Anand).

However, the visit takes an unexpected turn and pulls her into a dangerous mystery. Who is Tirupati (Samuthirakani), and how is he connected to the case? The rest of the film reveals the answers.

Performances: Samaira gets a strong lead role but feels slightly miscast. Samuthirakani is impressive as police officer Tirupati, adding humour with his performance. Abhirami and Sharanya Pradeep shine in well-written roles and deliver strong performances.

Anand is good in his supporting role, while Dhanraj, Gaddam Naveen, Josh Ravi, and Adhire Abhi have brief appearances that fail to create much comedy. Madhunandan also performs well in an important role.

Technical Aspects: Karmakhya begins with an interesting premise, but the first half moves slowly and feels like a TV serial at times. The film picks up after the interval with a few engaging twists and a decent climax. While the cinematography is impressive, the background score fails to create the tension expected from a thriller. Overall, it has a good idea but only delivers an average thriller experience.

Analysis: Karmakhya has a slow first half, but the second half is more engaging with decent twists and a satisfying climax. It may not make a big impact in theatres, but it has enough suspense to entertain OTT audiences.

Verdict: A slow paced thriller that finds its footing in the second half. Despite a few flaws, the suspense and climax make it a satisfactory one time watch.

Bottom Line: Average thriller with engaging final act.
