It is not to be forgotten that it was Bollywood’s star producer Karan Johar, who released the Baahubali franchise in Hindi. He was at the very forefront in promoting the films and was one of the main reasons for the franchise getting widespread recognition in the Bollywood market. While he is currently not associated with releasing Rajamouli’s RRR in Hindi, he has very publicly supported the team in every opportunity that he got.
In a recent media interaction, Karan got to talking about the South Industry, and pan-Indian films. He acknowledged that while it is not possible for every film to recreate the magic of Baahubali, case in point: RRR, there are very good chances that pan-Indian films will continue to work because films nowadays are able to pass the language barrier, thanks to dubbed versions. He spoke about RRR and Radhe Shyam as well, and referring to the former, he said that while the Norther audience is not familiar with either NTR or Ram CHaran, the brand of Rajamouli would be enough to bring the audience in, and he even estimated that the Hindi version might make 30 Crores at the box office on the first day.
On the other hand, speaking about Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam, he said that the film would do good as well, considering the fanbase that Prabhas has managed to create for himself in the North.
