According to the police, a Hindu group and Hindu activist Shivakumar filed a complaint against Chetan at the Bengaluru Sheshadripuram police station.

Chetan asserted in a social media post that Hindutva is founded on fabrication. Also, he called “incorrect” Veer Savarkar’s claim that the Hindu country began to take shape when Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after slaying Ravana.

He claimed that the 1992 assertion that Ram Janma Bhoomi had replaced the Babri Mosque was similarly false. The BJP’s claim that Uri Gowda and Nanje Gowda killed former Mysuru monarch Tipu Sultan in 2023 is likewise untrue.

He emphasised that the truth might subdue Hinduism, saying, “Truth is equality.

According to IPC 295 A (deliberate, malicious act intended to incite religious feelings) and 505 B, a case has been filed (whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement or report containing rumour or alarming news with intent to create or promote, or which is likely to create or promote, on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, caste or community feelings of enmity and statements conducing to public mischief).
