Suriya‘s big-budget movie “Kanguva” is preparing for a massive release in Telugu states. Suriya completed an extended promotion for the film, and “Kanguva” is being distributed by Mythri Film Distributors in the Nizam area.
However, there’s a disagreement between Mythri and theater owners, which has delayed advance bookings in most multiplexes and single screens.
With only one day until release, only around 200 shows are scheduled for “Kanguva” in Telugu and Tamil, in both 2D and 3D formats.
Asian Cinemas wants to run the movie on a profit-sharing model, but Mythri prefers a rental model. This dispute means “Kanguva” may not play at popular theaters like AMB Cinemas and AAA Cinemas if unresolved, and even PVR INOX hasn’t released the schedule yet.
This delay may impact the movie’s opening numbers. Directed by Siva, “Kanguva” stars Suriya as a warrior, with Disha Patani and Bobby Deol in key roles, and is produced by UV Creations and Studio Green.
