Kangana Ranaut trashes all the rumors on Thalaivi

A biopic on legendary actress and former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha titled, Thalaivi, has impressed everyone with the recently released theatrical trailer. Starring Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the titular role, the film was supposed to hit the screens on April 23rd but is postponed due to the widespread Coronavirus across the country.

Meanwhile, from the past few days news has been circulating among media circles is that the film will skip its theatrical release and opt for a direct OTT streaming soon. Responding to all the speculations, Kangana Ranaut this morning posted a long note on her Instagram story and trashed the news in the circulation is just baseless one. Kangana Ranaut made it clear that the film will first have its theatrical release and go for an OTT streaming later.

While Thalaivi’s Tamil version digital rights are acquired by Amazon Prime, the film’s Hindi version rights are snapped by Netflix.

This AL Vijay directorial also stars Arvind Swami and Poorna in key roles. Vishnu Induri and Shaailesh R Singh bankrolled the movie.
