Kamal Haasan shared an open letter asking the Indian film industry to work together during tough times as global issues are increasing costs.
He pointed out rising fuel, transport and production expenses, saying film budgets are already high and may get worse.
He also warned that inflation could affect how viewers spend on entertainment, impacting everyone in the industry.
He stressed that workers should not suffer because of cost cutting and their wages, safety and dignity must be protected. Kamal said the real issue is unnecessary spending like poor planning, big entourages, outdoor shoots and delays.
He called for an industry-wide meeting with producers, actors, and others to find solutions, reduce waste, and follow better, more practical filmmaking methods to secure cinema’s future.
