Kamal Haasan, a seasoned figure in both politics and movies, has been juggling these realms adeptly. Recently, Vijay made headlines by announcing his political debut with the party named ‘Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’ (TVK), declaring his intention to dedicate himself entirely to politics after completing his 69th film.

He is currently working on the movie GOAT with Venkat Prabhu and has his 69th film under DVV productions, although the director is yet to be confirmed, with Trivikram being a potential frontrunner. In response, Kamal Haasan, during a political press conference, acknowledged having discussions with Vijay regarding politics and was the first to welcome him into the political arena.

He highlighted that Vijay’s decision to leave filmmaking was entirely his own. Vijay’s debut into politics and choice to leave the film industry have the potential to change Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, as he and Kamal Haasan navigate the state’s complex intersections of cinema and government.
