Kamal Haasan’s controversial comments about the Kannada language continue to stir debate even a month later.
Recently a Bengaluru court issued an interim order stopping the actor from making any further remarks about the language.
This came after Mahesh Joshi, president of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat filed a case seeking to prevent Kamal from making any defamatory statements about Kannada and its culture.
The Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge reviewed the case and ordered that Kamal Haasan must not post, speak, or publish anything claiming superiority over the Kannada language or make negative comments about its literature, land, or culture.
The court also summoned Kamal Haasan and scheduled the next hearing for August 30, where his presence is required.
Meanwhile Kamal’s latest film Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam marked their reunion after 37 years. However, the film failed to impress both audiences and critics.
