Kalyani Priyadarshan says books and cinema have always played an important role in her life. She believes reading helps her understand different things which is very useful for her work as an actor for sure.
Growing up she was surrounded by many books because both her parents enjoyed reading and her grandfather worked as a librarian.
Kalyani especially enjoys reading fiction with a preference for stories that explore relationships, identity and everyday life. She often uses her free time on film sets and during flights to read books without fail.
According to her reading is a much better way to spend time than endlessly scrolling through social media. She also shared that she does not worry about reading slumps and reads at her own pace.
Interestingly Kalyani revealed that ChatGPT has recommended several books that she ended up enjoying a lot.
