‘Kaalkoot’ is an entertaining thriller that revolves around the life of a dedicated police officer Ravi Shankar Tripathi.

Story: In this web series, an attempt has been made to show the tired system through two characters, the first episode starts with Parul Shweta Tripathi, on whom the episode has been attacked. Then we meet Spector Ravi Shankar Tripathi with Vijay Verma i.e. Vijay Verma ji doesn’t even like the heat that comes with the uniform, he is thinking of resigning from the police job for 3 months.

But the problem is that his senior is not his resignation, so his mother is behind him with the slogan of marriage, Ravi Shankar Tripathi is very much worried about both home and job and even after being upset, he would have taken Parul’s case in his own hands. And under the pressure of marriage and corrupt system, it remains to be seen whether he will solve the case of Attack Victim Parul in his own mind or not.

Performances: Shweta Tripathi Sharma delivers a stellar and emotional performance as Parul, an acid attack survivor. She has been successful in keeping the emotions of her character in front. The acid attack marks on the face of Shweta’s character look very real. For this, the hard work of Prosthetic Artist Dhananjay Prajapati should be appreciated. Yashpal Sharma and Gopal Dutt are also in the role of police officers and have played their role very well.

We recently saw Vijay Varma as a psycho serial killer in the crime-thriller ‘Dahad’. In such a situation, it is good to see him on screen as SI Ravi Shankar, this time as a policeman. He not only plays the role of an honest policeman, but also portrays the difficulties of the character very well. Seema Biswas looks good in the role of Ravi Shankar’s mother. She wishes to find a perfect girl for her son and settle down.

Technicalities: Arunabh Kumar and Sumit Saxena have woven the incidents of everyday life in a very good and poignant way in the story. This series made under the direction of Sumit Saxena is good, although the story seems complicated till the very end.

Analysis: This web series is a real experience. This can happen to anyone. This is not the first case in the society. How many such cases are registered every day. But due to the beating of the system, the appeal for justice remains suppressed. The one with whom the incident happens, he has to bear it throughout his life. The helplessness of Shweta’s character is disappointing. On the other hand, the character of Ravi, played by Vijay Varma, is that of an innocent man who gets irritated by the arrogance of the system, its bullying, its attitude and its ways. But he also has to be a part of it. This web series is based on the dilemma of a common man. With whom every common man would like to join.

Verdict: ‘Kalkoot’ looks like a fun and solid web series till the first five episodes. But, then after five episodes the story gets confused. In eight episodes, the reality of the tired system, while giving evidence of corruption, he goes off the track. This is the reason why many things seem unnecessary by the end of the episode.
