Hollywood concept artist Sung Choi has accused the makers of the upcoming Indian film “Kalki 2898 AD” of copying his artwork without permission. Choi, known for his work with Marvel Studios, Disney, and Warner Bros., shared his original piece titled “Crash Site of ARK” on social media. He showed how a scene from the “Kalki 2898 AD” trailer looks almost identical to his artwork. Choi called this unauthorized use of his work bad practice and questioned creating art in such an environment.
Fans and internet users quickly noticed the similarities and criticized the main filmmakers for plagiarism. Many people are pointed out that the “Kalki 2898 AD” trailer also seemed to borrow on heavily from other popular films and series like “Mad Max” “Dune” and “Halo” Choi’s post received a lot of support from fans and the fellow main artists, who encouraged him to take legal action against the filmmakers.
