Kajol Clarifies Her Viral ‘Actors Work Harder’ Statement

Kajol recently explained her statement that actors work harder than 9-to-5 employees, which earlier drew criticism.

In an interview, she said that acting demands complete focus and presence. “When you’re on set, you have to be 100% involved for 12–14 hours a day”, she said.

Kajol added that while office workers can relax or take small breaks, actors don’t get that comfort. Even when they’re not filming, they attend events or promotions and must always stay alert and composed.

“We are constantly being watched, how we sit, walk, talk or even cross our legs, everything is noticed”, she explained. Kajol said that this constant attention makes acting mentally and physically out.

She also said her comment was not to disrespect anyone but to highlight the intensity and pressure that come with being an actor in the public eye.
