Kabir Bedi Looks Unrecognisable As Sage Kashyapa In Samantha Starrer Shaakuntalam

Team Shaakuntalam posted a brief comment and the image of Kabir Bedi dressed as Sage Kashyapa on social media.

Expectations for the Tollywood film “Shaakuntalam,” starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, are steadily rising as it nears its April theatrical premiere. In the Gunasekhar directed film, famous Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi plays the part of the ancient sage Kashyapa, according to the producers.

The actor’s outfit was revealed by the team on social media, along with a brief caption.

“Among the Saptarishis of the Rig Veda.. The sage from who’s name the magnificent region of ‘Kashmir’ derives its name.. A prime figure in this tale of Shakuntala-Dushyant. @iKabirBedi as Sage Kashyapa. #Shaakuntalam,” the makers, Guna Teamworks tweeted on Tuesday.

A traditional story about Shakuntala and Dushyant, Bharat’s parents, from whom Bharatvarsh, or India, gets its name, is told in Shaakuntalam.

In 2015, the famous Kakateeya queen Rudhramadevi, who ruled over modern-day Telangana, was the subject of a historical drama directed and produced by Gunasekhar. His 2003 film “Okkadu,” which starred Mahesh Babu, was a huge success.

Shaakuntalam is a historical drama film starring Samantha in the title role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the monarch of the Puru dynasty. It is based on the well-known play Abhignyana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa. In supporting parts, it also has Mohan Babu, Jisshu Sengupta, Madhoo, Gautami, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla. The movie is slated to hit theaters on April 14, 2023.
