Buddy comedies are rare in Telugu cinema. Jigris, directed by Harish Reddy Uppula, follows the same style and gained attention after Sandeep Reddy Vanga promoted it. So the question is, did the film succeed in making people laugh? Let’s see!

Jigris Movie Story: Four friends, Krishna Burugula, Ram Nithin, Dheeraj Athreya, and Mani Vaka, decide to go to Goa. Inspired by a Hollywood film, they throw away their money, phones, and wallets, and start the trip in an old Maruti 800. How they reach Goa without money, the troubles they face, and the lessons they learn form the story of “Jigris”.

Performances: Krishna Burugula’s character has a strong relatable vibe; we all feel he’s just like us or someone we know. His scenes deliver natural comedy. Ram Nithin’s beard continuity is uneven, but he impresses with his performance. It’s surprising that he didn’t promote a film that actually showcases him well. Mani Vaka delivers solid emotions, while Dheeraj Athreya’s innocence brings light-hearted humor and keeps the film engaging.

Technical Aspects: Kamran’s music brings good positivity to the movie. The songs and background score help the story and never spoil the theatre experience. Eswaraditya’s cinematography is impressive, with fresh visuals and impactful drone shots.

Director Harish Reddy Uppula tries to tell a simple story with an engaging screenplay, and it works to a fair extent. But the lorry and auto comedy in the second half and Bharat’s stretched comedy feel unnecessary. If trimmed, the film would be smoother. Still, the emotional part is handled neatly, and Harish earns good marks as a director.

Analysis: “Jigris” is a decent buddy comedy in Telugu, a genre that’s become rare. It’s a good attempt, and with some edits and proper promotion, it could do even better. It’s a fun, light watch, especially with friends.
