Jaya Bachchan Gets Trolled for Using Cabbage as a Prop!

Netizens were inconsolable after Jaya Bachchan published a poem in an old magazine piece about cabbage.

Even though the 1940s through the 1960s were considered the Golden Age of Bollywood, the 1970s were in fact a new era with a number of original ideas. As celebrities had already started to appear on magazine covers, concept photography was rife with novel concepts. Redditors were in splits when Jaya Bachchan recently revived her lyrical side with a cabbage.

With the 1963 movie Mahanagar, Jaya, formerly known as Jaya Bhaduri, started her acting career. She quickly made a name for herself as a leading lady and appeared in a number of successful films.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were both highlighted in Filmfare magazine in 1972. Jaya unlocked her poetic side and utilized cabbage as an accessory while Big B, who was dressed in a black jacket, white turtleneck, and grey slacks, appeared on the cover. The couple was married the following year, in 1973, for the unversed.

Jaya Bachchan appeared in the movie wearing a lovely lavender saree with floral embroidery. The Sholay star posed with a cabbage and read a poem while doing so, albeit she did look amazing. Her shoulders were covered with leaves, and one of them was transformed into her cap. The poem claims, “My heart is like a cabbage Divided into two The leaves I give to others The heart I give to you.”

While one called the magazine article “vintage sh*tposting,” another penned, “Internal dialogue “My debut was in a Satyajit Ray movie. Wtf is this shit?”

Comparing Jaya Bachchan’s tactics to that of Sara Ali Khan’s fun social media poetic banters, a third user wrote, “Kyunki Jaya bhi kabhi Sara thi.”

A fourth one wrote, “Jayaji, ye koi jagah hai patta ghobhi rakhne ka!”

One also addressed Jaya’s controversies involving her disputes with the paparazzi and wrote, “Rare to see her smiling.”
