Vijay’s film Jana Nayagan was originally planned for a grand theatrical release on January 9th but it was postponed due to censor issues. After nearly a month of delay the film has now been sent to the Revision Committee.
Earlier the makers opposed the changes suggested by the Censor Board and even approached the legal route. However after losing valuable time and money, they have now agreed to make the required changes.
If things move smoothly the censor issues are expected to be cleared within a week. If the certificate is received before this weekend, the film may release on February 20.
If not a new release date will be announced later. The team is ready with a new trailer to officially confirm the release date.
Directed by H Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions and the film’s delay caused major losses, and the Sankranthi season was missed.
