Jacqueline Fernandez who is representing India at the Red Sea Film Festival in Cannes recently opened up about her journey in Bollywood and how she has faced typecasting.
In an interview Jacqueline said that she has often been judged based on her image and offered roles that fit a certain stereotype.
She shared “Sometimes people assume I’m only suited for particular kinds of roles, and that has shaped my career path. But I’ve always wanted to explore more, challenge myself, and grow as an actor”.
Despite this, Jacqueline remains thankful for the work she has done and the recognition it has brought her. “I’m grateful for everything that brought me here,” she added, “but I want to do more”.
Her honest words reflect the struggles many actors face when trying to break free from labels and show their true range in cinema.
