Jackie, one of the select few performers who had the opportunity to collaborate with Dev Sahab in person, recalled how Dev Anand was a favourite of both his mother and himself.
Jackie Shroff said, “I met Dev Sahab 40 years ago, and it was magical like a dream come true,” when speaking about the same subject. My mother used to style my hair in a Dev Sahab-like manner. His love songs always had my attention. I initially met him in his office, and just by looking at him, I almost passed out.
Jackie portrayed the second villain in the Dev Anand and T.K. Desai-directed movie “Swami Dada.”
Jackie Shroff continued when speaking about Dev Anand, saying, “He would always shout my name three times, and he had even given me a role. I’m still struggling to forget the dream. Dev Sahab was a stand-up guy. He had boundless energy. He guided my thinking and There has never been anyone like him. He was a legend. He resembled my God.
Dev Anand described Jackie as his spiritual companion in an autograph, which added to the uniqueness of Jackie’s relationship with Dev Sahab.
In addition to reminiscing about these lovely memories, Jackie listed his favourites Dev Anand flicks, saying, “Guide always stayed with me; his vibe in the picture was great. ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ and ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ are two of my other top picks. I can see his flicks repeatedly.
