It’s not RRR, but KGF 2

Director SS Rajamouli’s RRR was expected to do great business all over India right from the very beginning, and the film delivered as expected. The other big blockbuster that everyone was anticipating was Prashanth Neel and Yash’s KGF 2, which was delayed many times due to the coronavirus pandemic but was finally released in April this year.

While KGF 2 too was expected to turn out to be a box office success, the film performed beyond expectations, especially in the Hindi market. The theatrical run of the film in the Hindi market hasn’t still come to a complete close, but the numbers aren’t up to the mark. With the final collections of the film drawing to a close, the film is now next only to Baahubali 2, in terms of collections.

Baahubali 2 collected Rs. 1000 Crores (nett) in India, in all languages. No other film has been able to beat this record so far. KGF 2 has now collected Rs. 790 Crores (nett) in all Indian languages, bringing it next only to Baahubali 2. On the other hand, RRR has collected only Rs. 750 Crores (nett).
