Puri Jagannadh and Nandamuri Kalyanaram’s ISM released this Friday. The movie music did not became a hit but the six pack look of Kalyanram and the energetic trailer cut for the movie made a difference along with the name of a star director like Puri. Movie was made on a never before budget for Kalyanram and he pinned all his hopes on the project to take him to the next league. The movie was made with a budget of 23 crs and there were rumours that the pre release business was not upto the expectations of the producers but with the belief in the movie and Puri, Kalyanram went ahead with the release as planned.
The movie released yesterday, had a decent expectations as Puri promised that this will be another best movie of his career. But the talk from the various centres has been highly mixed and the movie’s recovery seems to be dependent on day 2 and day 3 holding power. Puri Jagannadh’s current form has also been in great question because his movies haven’t been making any profits, in fact except for his Businessman and Temper, none of his movie with any hero have proved to profitable also.But still the director commands a good following due to his hits like Pokiri, Sivamani, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi, Desamuduru, Idiot, Badri and Itlu Sravani Subrahmanyam. The initial day collection of ISM stands at 3.02 crs share from AP and Nizam areas. The Overseas premieres and first day are not that strong as they were expected to be.
