Isha Koppikar Recalls Missing Out On Kashibai’s Role

In a recent interview Isha Koppikar praised director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s vision and expressed her wish to work with him in coming days.

She recalled meeting him almost 15 years before Bajirao Mastani was finally made. At that time Bhansali was planning the film with a different cast.

Isha revealed that she had gone to meet him for the role of Kashibai which was eventually played by Priyanka Chopra in the final version.

She said, “I wasn’t offered the role but I had met Sanjay sir when he was casting for Bajirao Mastani years ago. He didn’t go ahead with that version and the film was made much later with a new cast”.

Isha worked with top directors in Bollywood and also acted in Telugu films. Looking back, she recalled that meeting and still hopes to collaborate with Bhansali someday.
