A new discussion is gaining attention in Tollywood about a possible change in the OTT market for big-budget films. According to industry talk, OTT platforms are becoming more careful about the amounts they pay for expensive Telugu movies.
Some reports suggest that major films are facing delays in OTT deals, while a few highly promoted projects are reportedly receiving offers of around Rs. 150-200 crore.
Social media users have linked these reports to films such as Fauzi, Spirit, God of War, Dragon, Varanasi and Raaka. However, there is no official confirmation.
If this trend continues, producers may have to control budgets and reduce unnecessary spending on sets and VFX.
The theatrical business could once again become the main source of recovery, with OTT treated as additional revenue. This may push filmmakers to focus more on content, quality and practical budgets.
