Raj Kapoor family belongs to Peshawar, Pakisthan, before they moved to India after both countries achieved Independence. The actor along with his father, Prithviraj Kapoor concentrated on Films and they built a Studio as well. Raj Kapoor is revered as a legend in Indian Cinema and one of the most successful actors, producers and directors as well. His son Rishi Kapoor also became a famous actor and he was born in Peshawar.
After his death, recently, his bungalow in Peshawar was handed over to the Government on a request to make it a museum. Before that the family did not care about the Mansion and it became home for black moth & weeds. Now, the local people are saying that the Mansion which is in a lonely area, is filled with ghosts. Local bodies of Government are too pre-occupied to care about making it into a museum. Hence, a diamond business magnet is looking to buy it and tear it down to build apartment complex or a mall, it seems. But no one really wants to talk about how the mansion got this reputation, in first place!
