Is Saif Ali Khan not the first choice for Adi Purush?

Rebel Star Prabhas will be doing a mythological drama Adi Purush in the direction of Bollywood filmmaker Om Raut. The project will go on floors by early 2021. Prabhas will be seen in the role of Lord Rama for the movie and it was confirmed officially that Saif Ali Khan was roped in for Lankesh’s role. This decision was backfired as many have thought that Saif Ali Khan didn’t fit the bill opposite Prabhas.

However, inside sources reveal that Saif Ali Khan is not the first choice for the role of Lankesh. Om Raut and Prabhas thought of roping in Ajay Devgn for this powerful role but the RRR star turned down the offer politely stating that he might not be able to allocate bulk dates for the magnum opus as he was occupied with RRR and other Bollywood projects.

RRR shoot was delayed due to the COVID situation and will take more time than expected. So Ajay Devgn opted not to sign for Adi Purush. This has led the team to approach Saif Ali Khan.
